TickerPal ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the TickerPal Slack application and website (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

When you install and use TickerPal through Slack, we may collect the following information:

• Slack Workspace ID and Team Name — to identify which workspace has installed the app.
• OAuth Access Tokens — to authenticate and respond to slash commands on your behalf.
• Slash Command Input — the ticker symbols you look up (e.g., /ticker AAPL). We do not store the content of your queries beyond what is needed to fulfill the request.
• User ID and Channel ID — provided by Slack with each command invocation, used only to deliver the response to the correct user and channel.
• Watchlist tickers — symbols you choose to follow, stored with your Slack workspace ID and user ID so we can send weekday market-close reports.

We do not access or store your Slack messages, files, or any data beyond what is described above.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected solely to:

• Respond to your /ticker slash command requests with stock, cryptocurrency, and currency price data.
• Authenticate your workspace’s installation of the app.
• Monitor service health and troubleshoot errors.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data with the sub-processors listed on our Sub-processors page, including:

• Third-party data providers (e.g., Alpha Vantage, CryptoCompare) — we send the ticker symbol you requested in order to retrieve price data. No personal or workspace information is shared with these providers.
• Service infrastructure providers (e.g., Google Cloud) — for hosting and operating the Service.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain OAuth tokens and watchlist records only for the duration of your app installation. If you uninstall TickerPal from your Slack workspace, your associated data will be deleted within 30 days. You may also contact us to request data deletion at any time.

5. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all communications between Slack, our servers, and third-party data providers.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
